USB 3.0 is designed to be compatible with USB 2.0 and USB 1.1 and features three levels of multi-layer power management to provide different power management solutions for different devices.

The USB 3.0 Standard-A interface continues to be the same size as the previous version. The appearance is differentiated in blue, except that the internal contacts change and the new contacts will be placed side by side with the current four contacts.
